Urge the governor and state legislators to protect classrooms from midyear cuts

This fall, city schools endured $400 million in painful budget cuts. Now the governor is proposing an additional $223 million in midyear cuts. Implementing such cuts at the midpoint of the school year would mean dismantling existing programs and reorganizing classes, which would be particularly disruptive for students.

We need our state legislators to step up for our schools, and push hard against these potentially devastating cuts.
